we need your prayers

i know i've been quiet the last few days. it is because i am having trouble with my emotions. i do not know how to feel. *sigh* and the emotions i am feeling are not fun.

i need every prayer i can get. for peace, wisdom, discernment and direction. thank you to those who have been praying.

thank you to those who have called me at home or who have left messages.

thank you to those who have sent cards.

i feel like i am in the battle of my life. i feel like robby is in the battle of his life.

but ... God is good. all the tme. He will prove Himself faithful during this time. He has plans for robby ... to prosper him and give him a future. He holds robby (and me) in the palm of His hand and will work all things out for our good. we are called according to His purpose. we will overcome. we are the head and not the tail. God will draw him unto Himself. robby will serve the Lord. the blessing of a thousand generations is ours. greater is He who lives within us than he who is in the world. greater! mightier! faithful!

please friends, would you help me to keep my mind on the Lord? would you post a promise, a Scripture, a word? thanks for your love and support.

Here is one of my very favorites.

For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare, not for woe! plans to give you a future full of hope.

Jeremiah 29:11

We can't see the path but He can ... I'll keep praying for y'all.

this was just opened in my email - henri nouwen's:

Empowered to Speak

The Spirit that Jesus gives us empowers us to speak. Often when we are expected to speak in front of people who intimidate us, we are nervous and self-conscious. But if we live in the Spirit, we don't have to worry about what to say. We will find ourselves ready to speak when the need is there. "When they take you before ... authorities, do not worry about how to defend yourselves or what to say, because when the time comes, the Holy Spirit will teach you what you should say" (Luke 12:11-12).

We waste much of our time in anxious preparation. Let's claim the truth that the Spirit that Jesus gave us will speak in us and speak convincingly.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you” and “I am the Lord your God, who churns up the sea so that its waves roar—the Lord Almighty is his name.”....Snippets from verses in Isaiah that once gave me fits (I've written about it on my blog). It's a tough thing, keeping your faith when it seems your life is falling apart.

Carolyn, all I know is that God is faithful, has been faithful, and will continue to be faithful.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I know from experience how hard the "ups and downs" are. It's hard to know what to say about that part.

You probably already know everything I have said, and I am not saying it very well...just remember, you are not alone in all this.

thanks, pen. i'm fine but very tired. we had our cleansing stream retreat this weekend and the airconditioning broke in the church so it was hot, hot, hot.

i was on my feet (cast and all) on the ministry team for over 12 hours on Saturday.

the retreat was amazing, as usual, but it can be exhausting. we've also had 13 straight days of hot, humid weather.

off to speak at a funeral today ... i'll hopefully catch up tonight or tomorrow.

thanks, hon.
